Financial giving through the church happens in two primary ways: tithes and offerings. The Bible teaches that we worship the Lord by bringing Him our tithe. As it says in 2 Corinthians 9:7,

You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.”

When we give beyond the tithe, it’s called an offering—a way to express even more generosity as God leads us.
